For decades BCA has been a strong proponent and financial contributor to northeast Indiana economic development efforts and the professional organizations in the business of economic development. Through the early 1980's, BCA donated $150000 to the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Group and held a leadership role on that board of directors. Since 1995 BCA investments total well over $300,000. Recipients of this support are the Fort Wayne-Allen Economic Development Alliance and more recently, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership.

To help members be apprised of activities to attract and retain business for our market area, three events are sponsored throughout the year. The presentations focus on Allen County, northeast Indiana and State of Indiana activities. BCA members enjoy the company of many local economic development officials and mayors from throughout the region who attend as guests to network and learn from the informative and timely presentations.

BCA has been an advocate and lobbyist for many landmark construction projects over the years in this community including:

• Allen County Memorial Coliseum Expansion
• Baer Field (Fort Wayne International) Airport Expansions
• Airport Expressway
• Grand Wayne Center Renovation
• Harrison Square

A long time advocate for a one-stop-shop permitting system with local planning departments, BCA actively meets wit local planning professionals. Goals are to create dialogue between these government agencies and the users of their services to encourage more efficient project routing and to serve in advisory capacity to them.
